Mission and Ministry
Article 1 of the by-laws of the Chapel states that it is a multi-denominational Christian organization for the purpose of bringing people to a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and His plan for their lives.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Chapel then, is established to follow the Bible’s teachings on the Church’s role in God’s plan. Two verses provide the foundation of the mission:
- “He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.” Colossians 1:18
- “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and to, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
OUR MINISTRY
The Chapel ministry is to nurture disciples who know God and who are becoming like Christ by obeying His Commands. We are striving to be not conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, to prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. We strive to make Him known in the Villages and throughout the world through our witness. Accordingly, we concentrate on the following major areas of ministry:
- Preaching the Gospel – Mark 16:15
- Fellowship – I John 1:3
- Glorifying God – Ephesians 3:20-21
- Training – II Timothy 2:2 & 4:2
- Service – Ephesians 6:7, 8 Romans 12:2
- Missionaries – Acts 13:2-5
All Chapel services, activities, outreach, music, Bible studies, sermons, and communications are focused on carrying out the above Biblical instruction to spread the Good News of the Gospel, to glorify God, to serve others, to pray fervently, to enjoy Christian fellowship, to support missionaries in various mission fields, to train people for discipleship and to support the Christian community within The Villages .
