There are times when you attend an event that speaks to your heart and soul, causing you to respond with a full range of emotions. You might yell, clap your hands, jump into the air, or cry with a grateful heart because it touched the core of your spirit! Those experiences leave us feeling as though we have been cleansed from within.
I have seen individuals, including myself, have a moment like that while attending a concert, a sporting event, a dramatic play, and even a worship celebration. At times, there are so many things that bombard our lives and cause us to suppress how we really feel emotionally. So, we compartmentalize our feelings because we don’t want others to think negatively of us.
Over time, we can find ourselves judging others who can freely express their joy. Let’s allow each other a moment to lift our hearts in celebration without being disgruntled. We never know the brevity of the other person’s life; rejoice with them, if you can!
Luke 19:36-40 TLB 36-37. Then the crowds spread out their robes along the road ahead of him, and as they reached the place where the road started down from the Mount of Olives, the whole procession began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles Jesus had done. 38. “God has given us a King!” they exulted. “Long live the King! Let all heaven rejoice! Glory to God in the highest heavens!” 39. But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Sir, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” 40. He replied, “If they keep quiet, the stones along the road will burst into cheers!”
Look, it doesn’t have to be a Palm Sunday Celebration to come and experience this kind of joy! Each Sunday gathering is a time of refreshing and renewal of spirit… as we rejoice in giving our Lord a Standing Ovation for our victory in Him.
