July 11, 2026 Relocation…Ready or Not!

Some time ago, a friend I hadn’t seen for a while approached me to tell me he was relocating and downsizing for health reasons. By his countenance, you could easily see the toll that life’s challenges had placed upon his body. He said the last 5 years had been very difficult, and relocating would allow him to be close to a family member.

Our conversation took a slight turn concerning the inevitable, that we all get older and eventually pass on. I said, “Well, the good thing is that God has provided for our lives here and after we leave here.” I wanted to see if he really comprehended God’s provision for everyone facing the end of life here. It became clear that he was closed to any further discussion. Suddenly, he had to leave, and he wished me well. I offered him my prayers and told him that he would truly be missed.

I wonder if people really know and believe that they could have a relationship with God and the assurance of eternal life. Consequently, for some, as they approach the end of their days, being filled with doubt, fear, and the torment of the unknown is misery.

If your heart is open, you can receive God’s provision for you today and for eternity by believing in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. This is the offer that God has extended to everyone created in His image and likeness.

John 3:16-18 ESV 16“For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

John 14:1-3 ESV 1 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am, you may be also.

It doesn’t get any better than that!
