“A Good Story” by Gloria Hayden December 9, 2025

We all love a good story! One that intrigues us, has drama, suspense, action, conflict, main characters, and a final climax. It is an incredible story that makes sense and stays with the reader long after it is read. Whether there are heroes or villains, these characters must be believable and have clearly defined purposes or goals.

I was wondering why and how some stories are very satisfying and leave viewers or readers wanting more, while others are soon forgotten. I thought about what we all have in common concerning our existence and how each person has a life story. Some of our stories may be brief, while others may fill several volumes.

Consider the story of the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, how they failed in their intimate relationship with God by choosing a different path. We can read about their story in the Bible and many others who have lived and left a record of their deeds for us to ponder.

I remembered a scripture in Hebrews that states Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:2 NKJV “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” His story relates to all our stories, and His story is the most important of all, involving the entire world. The story does not end with Resurrection Sunday; it continues in the lives of everyone who has accepted the wonderful gift and inheritance He offers to all people.

I encourage everyone who reads this article to read the Bible for themselves…read the “Greatest Story Ever Told,” and talk about a “Real Superhero”…that’s real life!

Make sure you read the Gospel of St. John in your reading. Hopefully, you can start a new chapter in your Life Story that leads to Eternal Life.

John 3:16-17 NKJV For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
