Recently, I saw a newborn baby girl crying out as she entered a new strange unfamiliar world. She continued to cry out with her eyes closed as her Dad approached. He began to speak softly comforting her with his voice. He told her that he was there… it was OK and not to be afraid. When she heard those words, she stopped crying almost immediately to listen. Then a little while later she began to cry out loudly, shaking with every plea for help. Her father approached again and you could see his hand holding her tiny hand for comfort. He was still letting her know that he was present not to be afraid. He also said, “You are not alone.” Then the father softly says, “I love you”, suddenly you can see her struggling to open her eyes for the first time to try and see her father. As the story ends her head is lifted and eyes are finally wide-open gazing at her father.
This really touched my heart; it made me think of the many times in my life that I have been afraid, lonely, discouraged, in despair, in conflict and in grief.
Sometimes it was hard to understand and to hold on to my faith but God, who is the God
of all comfort, has helped me go through every test.
I can’t say that I passed them all with flying colors but He was there always to forgive, encourage and strengthen me as He gave me hope.
All of us have or are currently experiencing life’s trials in this world today. You may not know the comfort, peace and certain hope that God the Father provides. It’s free and available to everyone who seeks or desires Him. If you don’t know Him, it’s simple and easy to attain. All that one must do, is believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died, was buried, rose again, and is available to forgive your sins when you ask Him. Just ask him!
We all have a story to tell and we want to hear your story too! We can encourage, pray and support each other as we get acquainted and grow together.
“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25 NLT
