Do you find yourself needing a little help lately? For the most part, you have been living independently and managing without asking for help from anyone. You are proud ofwhat you have been able to do for yourself, without asking someone to help you manage your affairs. You now realize it would be wonderful if you had a little help with the mundane things that steal your energy and time.
Let’s start by praying, since you recognize the need, which is good. Prayer is simply having a conversation (brief or lengthy) with our sovereign God, who knows the complexity of our lives. Look, you don’t have to be religious to pray, but you do have to believe God is.
I find it interesting that some people who say they don’t believe in God or religion, Pray! Think about this: If you are desperate and in need of saving your life because of an accident, would you look for someone, or cry out for help? There are situations in life that may cause us pain and discomfort. Some of the most urgent and powerful prayers have been short, such as – Help! Lord! Oh God! Please! Jesus! Mercy! Sorry! Save me! Forgive me!
We are at a crucial period as a nation with complex issues from within and abroad…, without prayer, the effects could be devastating to our way of life. Desperate people seldom turn down prayer from someone who believes God can improve their circumstances! Mainly, everyone desires peace and joy with all the good that life affords them.
The Spirit of God calls on those who He has called to be vigilant and instant in prayer.
When we pray, faith is essential to receiving the answers to our prayers. Hebrews 11:6 NKJV “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Faith requires us to wait patiently and be prepared for what seems to be delays in what we have asked for. There are bound to be delays and long days of waiting because God is infinite in wisdom. We may feel we have done our part, and why hasn’t He fulfilled our request? Well, in the process of waiting for God to respond, we are being tested. On the other hand, faith, courage, and perseverance are applied to our disposition to trust God’s wisdom.
If we believe God is in control, let us pray and trust Him to deliver us from our foes! Please join us in celebrating Life at the Villages Community Chapel in Cribari Auditorium this Sunday at 10 a.m. to be encouraged over the Word of Life and enjoy coffee and cookies with friends.
