Just the other day I had my annual check-up and lab work with my heart transplant team. I received the results of the twelve vials of blood that I had given to the lab. When receiving the results, I noted that I needed a chest x-ray that was requested by one of the physicians. I was able to achieve that several days later during my wife’s doctor’s appointment.
When I walked past the lab where people were drawing blood, I heard the cry of a child. Hearing the cry of a child does something to your ears and heart. When you hear the cry, you go into a mode of discerning and detecting the type of cry. You investigate if they are tired, hungry, or terrified. After determining the cause, you want to act as quickly as you can to eliminate the problem because the atmosphere has been disturbed.
Today, the cries of many children all over the world are ringing out because of the terror, by day and by night! Their place of peace has been taken from them, and the fear of the unknown has gripped them. All that they desired and needed; love, acceptance, security, and daily food is in short supply…they cry! Regardless of a person’s age, religion, sex, ethnicity, education, culture, or nationality, the needs are the same…to live in peace.
The shadows of darkness seem to blanket across the landscape of our world, dividing families, countries, and nations. The children…God’s children created in His image and likeness, are crying out as nation rises against nation. The power of wisdom has lost its potency…the people grope in the darkness, and the children cry out with hands reaching heavenward!
Come Father, your children around the world are under duress, without comfort and peace. How long will you endure their cry before you intervene?
Psalms 34:16-17 ESV The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. 17 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of their trouble.
