“Lord, Forgive Us!” July 17, 2025

Lord, forgive us, we knew better than to put our confidence in men, rather than to trust your infallible word. You know us, and we can never be satisfied without your peace in our hearts. We have looked to man, in his brokenness, to give us what only comes from you. How long shall we wonder and cast our lots upon those who have no knowledge of your holiness and loving kindness?

Lord, forgive us, we closed our eyes after witnessing what we knew as truth because our hearts had become darkened by lies and falsehood. Lord, forgive us; we did not seek you, but instead became anxious and took matters into our own hands.

Each day, Lord, you call us to have a relationship, and we refuse to acknowledge your existence… until our fears paralyze us.

Proverbs 29:2 NLT: “When those who are right with God rule, the people are glad, but when a sinful man rules, the people have sorrow.”

There is so much negativity in our world today that it has caused people to focus on the negative, which has a detrimental impact on their mental and spiritual well-being. Lord, help us not to look at things that have no eternal virtue and cause deep sorrow. Let your words give us hope and a future.

Philippians :8-9 MSG Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw, and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

Please join us in celebrating Life at the Villages Community Chapel in Cribari Auditorium this Sunday at 10 a.m. to be encouraged over the Word of Life and enjoy coffee and cookies with friends. The chapel is a place for needs to be met, faith to be affirmed, and new friends to embrace. You can view our worship services on YouTube at www.villagescommunitychapel.vgcc.club
