Life can throw hard blows that can send you to your knees. There is no escaping missteps or mishaps in a broken world, from the top to the bottom. People everywhere are dealing with fear and instability from the four corners of the known world, desiring peace and finding none. The shared confidence that we had grown to expect in the home of the brave and the land of the free has been shaken to its core by calamity upon calamity.
We who live in the Villages are truly “Blessed Beyond Measure”, when you stop and think about where you live, even with the presence of coyotes and the cost. The benefits of living here are numerous for the people who realize that outside this little land mass, there is unimaginable trouble breeding in the darkness. The opportunity to have a happy life is all around us, even if we are not in the best of health, there are caring people everywhere…village by village.
With eyes wide open, we understand the human dilemma of sharing our grief with others. The friendships we have developed over the years of living here may take a turn when someone can no longer keep pace financially, physically, mentally, or socially. As much as we desire to live at our own comfort pace, things keep changing, like the constant upgrades on our cell phones. We are comfortable with our way of managing and operating the phone’s technologies, and here comes another change.
Some of us don’t realize that loss… any loss can lead to the early stages of grief. You don’t know why you feel so down and lack enthusiasm for each day’s activity. It could be the increased cost of living being on a limited income and you wonder how long you can stay here. It could be the loss of a pet, a loved one or an ability you once mastered. It could be how you view the world’s condition at large. So many factors can impact our lives and rob us of living each season of life joyfully.
Let’s take each day captive by speaking out with authority… “This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!” Whatever the day brings, be assured that the One who created you will take care of you! Be open to the kind people that He brings your way.
May the song “God Will Take Care of You” bring you comfort, confidence, and assurance that He can keep that which you have committed to Him against the day of great duress. For He is bigger than your circumstance and will see you through.
Please join us in celebrating Life at the Villages Community Chapel in Cribari Auditorium this Sunday at 10 a.m. to be encouraged over the Word of Life and enjoy coffee and cookies with friends. The chapel is a place for needs to be met, faith to be affirmed, and new friends to embrace. You can view our worship services on YouTube at www.villagescommunitychapel.vgcc.club
