Pursuing Peace With All Men 10/18/2023

By Pastor Bill Hayden

There is not one person that I have come across in life that doesn’t desire peace of mind in a busy and sometimes chaotic world that tests your fortitude. We come into adulthood with its brokenness from many different people groups, different life lessons, and the scares of our victories or failures. Interactions with others allows each person to gain wisdom in human behavior, to aid us in having a fruitful relationship with others despite the culture.

Any one of us can give a full description of what it’s like to be a human being without so much as a hiccup. Our basic needs are the same across the globe and become more complex due to what we have suffered in our lifetime. The knowledge we gain over time should allow us compassion and empathy when trouble arises.

The pride of life ensnares individuals to forsake reasoning, to act out of their own frustrations, fears and failures. Today, there are so many people who are dealing with internal and external conflicts that can easily escalate into violent acts. When leaders continually fail to lead the people with truth, justice and integrity, the hope of a better life diminishes at an alarming rate. Then corruption flows out of control from the top of the mountains to the lowest valleys.

Proverbs 29:2 NLT When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.

When the leaders of nations are not at peace, the people are oppressed and their hope fades. The scriptures instruct us to pursue peace with all men. To see God at the end of our days, requires a person to deny themselves and rely upon God. Hebrews 12:4 NKJV Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.
