Experiencing His Presence, Part 3

Romans 8:1-8 New King James Version (NKJV)

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who[a] do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,

4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be [b]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the [c]carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.

8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Application

God’s peace is always available by our submission to His Will.

As Christians, pleasing God should be our utmost desire.

Experiencing His Presence, Part 2

Romans 8:1-8 New King James Version (NKJV)

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Application: To be a Christian means to be led by the Holy Spirit rather than popular opinion. Each day we manifest God’s Love toward others, we are fulfilling his law.

Experiencing His Presence, Part 1

Romans 8:1-8 (NKJV)

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Applications:

Our Freedom as a Christian is different than a non-believer.

Our Freedom requires accountability to God and each other.

Being free allows God to use our lives as examples of His grace.

A Promise Given … A Promise Fulfilled , Part 3

Isaiah 43:25 English Standard Version (ESV)

25 “I, I am he
who blots out your transgressions for my own sake,
and I will not remember your sins.

1 John 1:7-9 New Living Translation (NLT)

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Application

If God forgives and forgets, He will never remind us of our sins once we have sincerely asked to be forgiven.

If God forgives us, we have no right NOT to forgive ourselves and others.

A Promise Given … A Promise Fulfilled , Part 2

Matthew 1:20-21 New King James Version (NKJV)

20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is [a]conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name, JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Application

You were created for an Eternal Relationship with the Godhead.

You have been given a great opportunity to have the best life you can live.

A Promise Given … A Promise Fulfilled

Isaiah 9:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV)

6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Application:

You were created for External Relationship with the Godhead.

You have been given a great opportunity to have the best life you can live.

The Everlasting Kingdom

Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV)

9  In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

10  Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

11  Give us this day our daily bread.

12  And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

13  And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Application:

When you pray, recognize the Father’s Sovereignty.
Remember as you forgive so shall you be forgiven.
Your welfare is contingent upon walking in forgiveness.

Great Is Your Faithfulness – Part 4

With testimony from Sister Gloria Hayden

2 Peter 1:1-7 New Living Translation (NLT)

1 This letter is from Simon[a] Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ.

2 I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairness[b] of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

Great Is Your Faithfulness – Part 3

Romans 8:38-39 New King James Version (NKJV)

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:9 New King James Version (NKJV)

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hebrews 10:23 New King James Version (NKJV)

23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Application

Trusting in others has limitations but trusting in God is living without limits

Confidence comes with trusting and experiencing the truth of God’s Infallible Word.

Great Is Your Faithfulness – Part 2

Psalms 118: 17-18  (NKJV)

17 I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the Lord.
18 The Lord has chastened me severely, But He has not given me over to death.

Hebrews 12:11-13 (NKJV)

11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,

13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.

Application:

Only God knows the exact measurement of disciple you need to be conformed to His image.

Always receive it with a grateful heart because it comes from a Loving Father.
